Biography

Hero Beauregard Faulkner Fiennes Tiffin was born on November 6, 1997 in London, England, United Kingdom to his parents Martha Fiennes and George Tiffin. His mother is a writer, director, and producer while his father is a director, novelist, and cameraman. Hero is the second of three of their children, he has an older brother, Titan, and a younger sister, Mercy. He grew up in London, attending Raey Primary School, Emanuel School, and Graveney School.

Hero’s first film role came as Spartak in the 2008 drama Bigga Than Ben, about two self-confessed ‘pieces of Moscow scum’ who come to London to rip it off. The next year, he portrayed the 11-year-old Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. There was speculation he won the part because of his family connections, as Ralph Fiennes (who played Voldemort) is his maternal uncle, but the director David Yates stated he was cast due to his ability to find “the darker space” in his line readings, not because he’s related to Ralph Fiennes. He went on to describe Hero as “very focused and disciplined” and said he “got the corners and dark moods and odd spirit of the character” as well as having a “wonderful haunted quality that seemed to bring Tom Riddle alive on-screen for us.” Hero’s next film was the war drama Private Peaceful was released in 2012, where he played Young Charlie. The film also starred George MacKay and Jack O’Connell.

He would end up taking some time off from acting to finish school. Once he graduated, Hero signed to Storm Management modeling agency, where he began modeling for H&M and was a part of their ERDEM collaboration campaign in 2017. Hero also modeled for Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, and Superdry. He returned to acting in 2018, appearing in an episode of the television series “The Tunnel”, playing the role of Leo in its third season. Later that year, he also had recurring roles on “Safe” as Ioan Fuller and Jake on “Cleaning Up” in 2019. Hero was cast as the lead role of Hardin Scott opposite Josephine Langford in the film adaption of After, based on the book by Anna Todd. The film was released in April 2019 and grossed almost $70 million worldwide. He won a Teen Choice Award for Choice Actor in a Drama for his performance. Hero was also awarded the Rising Star award at the Ischia Film Festival. In November, he was named the new face of Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A.’s fragrance Ferragamo.

At the beginning of 2020, he portrayed Brooks in the Nikolaj Coster-Waldau-led film The Silencing, a crime thriller following a reformed hunter living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local Sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago. The film earned a Best Motion Picture nomination at the Catalonian International Film Festival. Next, he appeared as Sam for the adventure television series “Day by Day” next to Lucy Hale and Oona Roche. Hero reprised his role of Hardin Scott for the second installment of the After series, After We Collided, which premiered in October and was added to the Netflix streaming service two months after.

Hero is currently filming the next two films After We Fall and After Ever Happy simultaneously in Bulgaria, reprising his role of Hardin Scott for the final time.
